WorkSafeNB invites our employees to participate in the review of the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission & WCATAct. This legislation, established in 1994 through the merger of the Workers’ Compensation Board and The Occupational Health and Safety Commission, serves as the backbone of our organization's governance framework.
The Act encompasses various critical provisions, including the structure and authority of the board, reporting requirements, the internal appeal process (the Decision Review Office), the external appeal tribunal (WCAT), and general provisions aimed at facilitating the smooth functioning of WorkSafeNB.
To facilitate a thorough review and to make the process more convenient, we encourage you to provide your input using the survey below. Please refer to the WHSCC & WCAT Act Consultation Document at right, which addresses specific provisions in the Act. We welcome all comments related to the different topics that the Act addresses, and are not limited to the information discussed in the sidebars of the document. We invite you to share your insights, suggestions, or concerns on any of these sections by May 10.
Your feedback will be instrumental in guiding discussions with the board as we prioritize areas for legislative review.
