Psychological health and safety plays a critical role in protecting workers in New Brunswick. WorkSafeNB recognizes that workers in high‑risk environments, including first responders and emergency health care workers, face repeated exposure to traumatic events that can lead to traumatic psychological injuries (TPIs). Preventing and reducing these injuries requires proactive, evidence‑based initiatives that address workplace psychological hazards and strengthen protective factors.
The Psychological Health and Safety Prevention Grant Program supports projects that prevent or mitigate TPIs in New Brunswick workplaces. The program provides funding for innovative, time‑limited initiatives focused on awareness, training, prevention, and early intervention. Through this grant, WorkSafeNB advances psychological health and safety and supports learning, evaluation, and system‑level improvement across the province.
